A New Year is Upon Us

The Angelic Path
The New Year is almost here!

2017 is upon us.  In just a few short days a new year will be here.  Numerological speaking it’s a “1” year for all – 2 +0+1+7=10; cross out the zero and you have “1”.  What does this mean?

“One” years are foundations for things to come over the next 10 years and new beginnings.  The old falls away and the new begins to take shape.

So what will the new year bring? In America, as well as many places around the world, new and different types of leaders are ushering in new and different types of leadership.  For those who can tolerate the changes, or even welcome those changes, this time can be very exciting.  For those who do not trust their leadership, this type can be upsetting, confusing, frustrating and a host of negatively charged vibrations and emotions.

How people react to the world around them will always set up their own emotional patterns and set the tone for any year.  For this upcoming year, the energies are added to by the new beginnings energies.  One should have this in their mind going forward.

Change can be difficult for many and yet so many have asked for change.  New beginnings energies enhance

The world is changing.

this change for new beginnings in and of itself are change.  So this upcoming year will be a year full of changes.

It will be doubly important for humans to take care of themselves physically, emotional and spiritual as a result of all of the new energies that swirl around.  It is best to separate yourselves from those that refuse to stop rocking the boat – not only globally but as local as your own personal life.

The more peace you allow into your life and purposeful intent, the better off you will be.

This means separating yourself from news stories that can and will upset you; remaining diligent in your own intentions, personal vows and aspirations and doubly down on being with people who uplift you  and situations that make your heart sing.

Reading biographies (or watching movies or inspirational TV or YouTube shows) on people who have come through adverse times and struggles may help you understand what change is all about.  Support groups may also help, as long as they are constructive and not destructive. Reading spiritual material and following spiritual people that resonate with you can also be helpful.

It’s time to let go old energies including toxic people, jobs and other situations that do not lift your spirits, but degrade them.  Begin easing toxic and negative people out of your life by blessing them and sending them mentally on their way.  Ask Archangel Michael to cut their cords from you.

The economy is now better for many; time to get additional training and/or schooling; re-edit your resume and start looking for new opportunities, if your job is toxic or not fulfilling.  Just switching jobs may help you in the long run, if your place is too toxic.  Remember in today’s current economy long-term jobs are a thing of the past.  Aim for short-term if you must or try your hand at entrepreneurship.  There are plenty of online and local community college courses business courses that you can take, that cost next to nothing.  Ask others how they got started for free advice.  People love to talk about themselves and what they do –take advantage of this pleasant fact.

2017 is a year of new beginnings and new opportunities.  Avail yourself of the knowledge and opportunities out there.  Begin a new year journal and jot down daily your intentions, activities, reactions to previous day’s events and what you are looking forward to.

You’ve heard every January that “This is Your Year”….but truly this is your year of “1” with new beginnings, new information and new activities.   Watch for your expectations to begin to manifest in your life in new, pleasantly unexpected ways – and as always, ask your angels for help, any time and in almost any way.  You simply have to ask and then look for the signs as newness appears before you.

Happy New Year!!!

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

First Thanksgiving
The pilgrims celebrated the First Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

How are you celebrating this holiday?
Will it be turkey again this year?
How are you appreciating your life?

One holiday season, I caught part of an old movie (Plymouth Adventure) that celebrated the pilgrims landing at Plymouth Rock.  That ship ride apparently was a doozy.  Many perished on the trip here and with the first year.  The pilgrims were a brave bunch of folks and we have much to be grateful for as a result of their journey.  My Cahoon ancestry stretches back to the Mayflower; not sure which passenger anymore though.  I am proud of my heritage as a member of the founding families of America.

Thanksgiving Day was celebrated first by the Massachusetts Colony pilgrims in 1723 to celebrate the end of a long and hard drought.  Almost fifty years later, President George Washington declared it a national holiday in 1789 and it became an annual holiday throughout the United States in 1863.

On Thanksgiving Day, we still give thanks and honor those that came before us.  We honor those brave men and women who were pilgrims coming to this country for the first time and who survived the journey.  We express gratefulness and appreciate for the year that is almost behind us and all the blessings the year has bestowed upon us.  Thanksgiving Day is uniquely American (Canada has their own Thanksgiving Day) and we celebrate with parades, feasts and football.

happy_thanksgivingI happy I get to visit family for this Thanksgiving; this year the day falls on my birthday so it’s a double holiday for me!   I anticipate eating lots of great food and having at a wonderful time.   I intent to have a good time of celebration filled with laughter, family, delicious food and good cheer.  Indeed, I do appreciate this time of year and am so grateful for all my blessings.

We here at The Angelic Path want to give thanks to all of you who have been reading our blogs, providing comments and attending our events, classes and taken advantage of our other services too.  We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for wonderful folks who allow us to serve with such blessing.  So here’s to you and your family—thank you and we wish you all the very best this holiday season.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

With Great Gratitude and Appreciation,

Autumn is here!

Shrine entrance
Holy Hill Shrine entrance

I love the fall; anyone who knows me personally knows autumn is my favorite season of the year. This year is a colorful one for the leaves with nearby forests showing off their bright yellows, vibrant reds and cheery oranges. The weather has a nip in the air, but isn’t too cold yet and Halloween (my favorite holiday next to Christmas) is just around the corner.

Decorations are scattered about my home. Neighbors’ home are displayed with a yard full of tombstones and ghouls, along with the obligatory pumpkins!

Every year I travel north to see the changing leaves in the Kettle Moraine area; this year I visited Holy Hill, a sacred siteHoly Hill Church where a large Catholic church/monastery is known for its healing miracles, life sized stations of the cross statues and two towers, one of which you can climb the 178 steps to the top.  (I did not.) The large brick structure sits on the highest elevation in the southeast part of the Wisconsin state and offer panoramic views of the nearby landscape.

This place is very beautiful during fall and would be more peaceful, except it is a place for tourists to visit.  There were quite a few the day I visited.  Still the place held a type of tranquility and energy that lends itself to feeling the sacredness of the area.

I think this is another reason I like autumn – the peacefulness of the season.  Soon I will be dining with a friend or two and will enjoy hot cocoa – a treat at this time every year. This is the time to dine with friends and family, to scare and be scared (but in a playful way) and to begin the dance of hibernation, as the nights grow shorter and colder – at least here in the Midwest.
Each season brings us something new to look forward to. I look forward to the upcoming holidays, to being with old and new friends and even my family. And I even look forward to that day in late November when I turn another year older and so much wiser.

Enjoy this season – where ever you live. Play, dance, harvest and be thankful for all your blessings. That way more can come your way!

Happy Autumn!

Looking Forward to Spring

Sick bearAre you ready for spring?  I know I am!

It’s rough being sick. This winter, despite getting a flu shot, thousands have gotten bitten by some sort of weird morphed flu bug. I was no exception to the rule—which is why this blog isn’t like other blogs. Because lying in bed all week long feeling miserable and sick and sorry for one’s self makes a person appreciate it more when they are well. And I am well – now. Last week, not so much so. It also allows one to reflect on stuff when they are well and starting to feel better – which leads me to the point of this blog –I am so far behind on giving you all a real newsletter this year that this blog will serve both as a friendly conversation piece and a newsletter.

Download or Not?
So, they say when you are down and out and a light worker – you are really receiving a download of information. Not sure it’s true, or just that the down time allows you to unplug a bit and relax from every day stress, thus forcing you into a state of expansion. None the less, download or not, I do often get new inspiration and bouts of creativity upon rising from a sick bed. Something to keep in mind the next time you are sick in bed! Appreciate the down time and the inspiration that may follow!

Natures Angels bk cover0001Our Latest Creation

Speaking of which, last week we launched our latest creation –Connecting with Nature’s Angels: The World of Faeries, Elementals and Nature Spirits,   which is now available on Amazon.com.

In this book we explore the world of the fey, including how I stumbled upon it, the conversations I had with nature’s royalty and staff and how to take photographs of this multi-dimensional world. It’s fully illustrated with color photos and b & w artwork. It’s been a fun experience writing this tome and I hope you enjoy reading it! $19.95 on Amazon!  A great book for the spring season!

For Local Folks – Join Our Communicating with Spiritual Meetup!
Next week we have our first local (northeast Illinois) Communicating with Spiritual Masters Meet up: Friday @ 7 pm, Free! We’ll be exploring the world of psychometry or how to feel energy from personal items and perhaps receive messages. The Divine Guidance Team will also be present and can answer questions along with the group share. Interesting in coming? Check out and join our Meet Up (www.Meetup.com) group: Communicating with Spiritual Masters and get all the low down on our upcoming meetings.

Okay, that wraps up this week! Thanks for letting me yak at you more casually than usual! Stay warm out there!  And keep looking towards March and the start of spring!

Autumn is here!

Illuminated Engagements
Some local fall colors!

Do you know what time it is?
Are the leaves changing colors where you are?
Do you feel the crispness in the air?

It’s now late October and autumn is in full swing.

As many of you who have been following this blog know, there were awesome colorful autumns when I was growing up in Rochester, NY.  The trees were huge and the colors were, to say the least, spectacular.  Hopefully you are experiencing a similar scenario this year!  I know I am!  Now that I’m in Wisconsin, the colors here are a great tapestry of yellow, reds, orange and browns.

Autumn leavesThe change of the seasons is often celebrated.  This is the time of the harvest—times to celebrate all you have accomplished during this last year.   We bet you’ve accomplished more than you think.  Lots of people’s lives have been hectic this year; remember now is the time for great changes in our  world, this is the time of the Great Shift and did we expect anything less than change in our lives?

This year the autumn colors have been great  We have a nearby park which this year didn’t disappoint. I was able to take a day trip up north with a friend and we marveled at all the wonderful fall colors.  I go looking a the leaves every years.  Just my way of celebrating my harvest—with a mini-vacation!  I’ll post pictures of what I found in on our Facebook page.   How will you celebrate your time of the harvest?

Enjoy this season! You can dress in that favorite wool sweater again now that the weather is getting cooler.   The smells of pumpkin or apple pies fill kitchens with yummy smells and burning leaves fill the outdoor air.  Halloween is now upon us too!

I once heard that you usually like the season that you were born in the best.  I don’t know about that—although I was born in the fall (November) and I always get excited about this time of year.  It’s probably the anticipation of the holiday season, which I do enjoy.  Light and love fill that season and who doesn’t want more of that? It’s a great season for light workers!  (And we’re not just talking about those folks who professional decorate for the holidays!)

May this season and month of October be one that lights the fire in your heart and soul.  To help keep you warm and cozy as the nights grow colder, and just because, I put a nice apple oatmeal cookie recipe below.  It’s from one of our local apple groves aptly named Apple Holler.  Check them out on the web! (www.AppleHoller.com)  It is a fun place to go to anytime of the year.  They have apples, pears and pumpkins to pick and buy, farm animals to pet, a corn maze and hay ride, and a great little country store and restaurant, full of great meals.  Oh, there’s more too; like I said.  Check them out if you’re in the area.  (And no, I’m not getting any kickbacks to promote them—I just like the place and think you might like it too.)

Have fun this fall and enjoy the season!
