Tragedy Illuminates the Need for Faith

Today I learned that a favorite and beloved pet store in my area burned down last week. While no humans were harmed, well, I’m sorry to say the store and contents were a total loss. I’m very saddened to hear this. The owners are devastated; they had this business for 20 years. There will be a lot of healing taking place over many months to come for so many who loved this business.

Often times we are faced with these types of situations –when senseless acts take away loved ones and create chaos and profound sadness in our lives. It is these times we must seek a higher power and recognize that this higher power is indeed in charge. It is true faith that sustains us in these great times of emotional need. Faith to know that there was greater purpose to the tragedy even if we can’t recognize it as such at the time. To know that the angels were there – to help the helpless transition quickly and to know that these souls –are now in the capable and loving arms of those that can heal the wounds from any hurt from the transition.

While I am sad, I must look and know that a higher power overlooked this situation. That in the end all will be well and that the cost has not been too high for those left behind in any similar situation. I trust and pray that God is in charge, that life is often filled with mysteries as well as misery and that we as humans have to figure out the difference.
