Tripping Down Memory Lane

The Road Not TakenSo dear friends I was going to write to you about sound healing—and how sound does affect our mind, body and soul.  Listen to any great album of music and see that it is so.  But I went on vacation, to my sister’s in Rochester, where loyal long-time readers know I grew up.

Often times our childhood is full of both good and bad memories.  Such was mine.  So in addition to visiting woods where the Iroquois once roamed and visiting old homes; my sister and I have been going through a healing process, where old demons are purged and wounds are closed.  Tears are sheds, hugs are exchanged and life proceeds with some new closure.  Very cathartic and a process I’d recommend to any who need such a process in their life.

Often we get stuck in old patterns of belief and thoughts that harken to such childhood incidents.  We are unable to change patterns that need changing, if we aren’t aware of them.  So tripping down memory lane is sometimes just what the doctor ordered.  It is for me and I’ll be a better, more enlighten person as a result—or at least that is the intent!

I’ll be addressing sound healing next week and how our soul sound healing recordings can help you purge old cobwebs and re-balance your chakras.  I know when I listen weekly, it helps me!  Try a sample recording on our Soul Sound Healing page.  I think if right-click, you can listen; left-click you download the free sample that is about 3 minutes long.

It’s good to go on vacation and it’s great when we let our souls be cleared from old debris.  May your summer vacation be a great one this summer!!

PS: We’re only publishing 1 blog a week during the summer, look for our Friday edition coming to you in September!

Explore Your Life with Travel

spirituality, womanExploring life and the path it takes us down….we have to be open to explore life and all it has to give us. Some take vacations to explore life further. Regardless of the time and effort we simply must take vacations now and then. Vacations refresh the mind, the body and the spirit.

I traveled this past week Rochester, which long-time readers of this blog will know is my childhood home. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in this beautiful wooded and hilly area of New York. In addition to the woods are prairie and farm fields and of course—the water! Rochester sits on Lake Ontario with numerous rivers, creeks and canals. I love the water – Lake Michigan is only 3 miles from my home, and yet I barely get there to the shoreline to watch the sunlit waves. Instead I traveled 10 hours to see another Great Lake– Lake Ontario—from a whole new point of view. And that was what my exploration of the east was all about – we get to come back refreshed with a different perspective of life.

I know I did. I watched a beautiful sunset from the patio of my sister’s country home that sits in the middle of horse country. My sister is a great cook and so I was rewarded with several great meals. I did some shopping and also explored various county parks, scenic hillsides and wooded trails, as well as visited old parts of my childhood. All truly beautiful! I rediscovered parts of myself that had been hidden and discovered new aspects of life.
Have you taken a journey of exploration recently? Even a vacation? Good for you! If not—try and do so! You may even be overdue for a relaxing rest! This world of ours has true places of beauty and getting out into the world provides refreshment and renewed energy. Find your spot to travel to and make it your own!

Letting Go of the Past

Rochester NYI’m on vacation this week; traveling to my childhood home of Rochester, NY, where my sister recently moved to. We’re both kinda freakin’ out about this move, childhood memories, etc. While my cats are home, safe with the house sitter, I’m reliving both happy and sad childhood moments.

My father, who I was very attached to, died in April 1968, when I was a child. (Yes, I’m that old!) When he died my mother packed my sister and I up and we moved to Florida, to escape the cold white winters of Rochester. We never knew we lived that close to the lake until we visited this city about 3 years ago—the first time we were back in 40 years. At that time, my sister had no idea that she would making Rochester her home again; but then her husband got transferred and so she went.

I’ve come to visit; to sort the memories; to reminisce and maybe find a part of myself that I once lost.
I found this link to letting go of the past and so I present to you now, as I am forgiving and letting go of my past, so I can move forward.

Life can be funny, can’t it? With its ups and downs, insides and outs; sometimes we don’t know what is over the next hill (it’s very hilly here in countryside of Rochester, near the Finger Lakes). But we do know we have to move over the next hill in order to move forward. Besides one never knows what one will find over the next hill. Life can be fun that way.

Enjoy the quotes and remember that just because there’s a hill up ahead, it doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing. For me, I’m enjoying the exploration, wherever it may lead me.
