When You’re Not Paying Attention

boomerangI learned an important lesson this weekend, simply because I wasn’t paying attention. Not to where I had come from or was going, but because I thought I had set up an automated system that failed. As a result, my web store has been down for over 10 days. I had briefly wondered why we weren’t getting any orders; now I knew why. The system that I thought I had so carefully set up to run automatically, failed. Because I wasn’t paying attention.

Our energy goes where are thoughts go. This is part of the law of attraction. If we aren’t paying attention to that which is important to us — whether it be our business, our children, our job or our spouse, systems can and will fail.

Showing up in all aspects of our lives on a weekly basis, if not daily, is important. Don’t just assume that your life is all right. Check in with those around you and who surround you. Make sure you know they are OK and aren’t being neglected. This is important for people around you as well as various home and business processes.

I learned my lesson that I needed to check on all parts of my business. I plan to start writing down what needs to be checked every day and week–just a simple list that will allow me to keep better track of all the moving pieces and parts.

I also need to check on the many people in my life that I’ve probably shoved to the back burner. As many of you know, I am in the midst of a life change–I’m moving from Zion, IL to Rochester, NY within the month of June. Or at least that is my plan. God may have other plans. I do know my home is now sold and my house is 80% packed.

So I’m paying far more attention to the move than much of anything else. But I do pay attention to my daily spiritual practices, since the Divine Guidance Team is there for me and guiding me along each step of my new journey. To them, to God, I give daily thanks.

Don’t forget this part of your system either. God likes it when you check in now and again. Of all the automated systems, this may be the most important one of all.

Until next time, I hope your week is a great one!

  1. Cool Post! Automated systems are great for simplifying redundant manual work indeed, but not so much for the important stuff… like what we are responsible for or are choosing to create.

About 20 years ago my Dad said something VERY profound: “Whatever it is that we create, whether it be a home, yard, bill, or child, needs to be tended to by whomever created it… if we all did this, the world would be better place”. He was right and I really take this to heart and share it with many… hey, maybe I should blog about this to my business followers 🙂

Blessings of staying focused on what you choose to bring into your life!
